Today, Hashbang Games is proud to announce their new business relationship with Maxon, makers of Cinema 4D and the launch of their Kickstarter page for Orbital Blaster. Orbital Blaster is a new shooter inspired by classic arcade games like Galaga. With its fast pace action, simple mechanics and amazing graphics, this unique shooter redefines ?what makes games fun?.
In addition, they have been committed to building Orbital Blaster for the new Ouya Gaming Console. Launching on the Ouya will allow them to reach a broader audience and bring Orbital Blaster to the big screen TV. Hashbang Games CEO Marco Williams says, ?Since the Ouya will not have any power limitations effecting battery life, we can release a new set of features for the console.?
For the Ouya, and possibly tablet owners, Hashbang Games will be releasing a new kind of gaming experience. Orbital Blaster will have a built in level editor that will allow users to create new and challenging game play experiences along with the ability to share, rate and rank them among their friends and the whole community. Making use of Cinema 4D, they have been creating a plethora of content for the community to build the most exhilarating and intense levels to play. In addition, Maxon has sponsored their efforts to integrate Cinema 4D created content.
There are some new and exciting projects for Orbital Blaster that Hashbang Games and Maxon have been discussing. They can?t go into too much detail, but it involves getting the Cinema 4D design and development community to participate in content creation! Their Kickstarter project will be the fuel to bring Orbital Blaster to life and make all sub-projects possible.
Backyard Sports: Rookie Rush

Comical kids compete on playgrounds and parks once more in this continuation of the Backyard Sports series. Rookie Rush features a selection of 12 teams, from the "Bunsen Blazers" to the "Meadowbrook Monsters." Each team has a distinctive home field and is captained by a youngster individually rated in speed, tackling, throwing, and power. The seven-on-seven action follows the basics of football, albeit with a much simpler play calling system and an emphasis on lighthearted, arcade-style action. Players can activate power-ups such as banana peels, ice cream trucks, and the dreaded "stinky pants" to help themselves or hinder their rivals. Up to four players can participate in an exhibition match, choose one of five mini-games, or enter a tournament. Solo players can either build the best team on the block in the story mode or lead their favorite team to victory over the course of a season. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
